BetMGM has an exciting new offer for Washington D.C. sports bettors with its ‘Title Town Special’ promotion.
The sportsbook is offering +1800 odds on a single wager that will give you four chances to win. If any of the nation’s capital’s four major sports teams (Commanders, Nationals, Capitals, Wizards) win a title in 2022/23, you win the bet.
It wasn’t that long ago that D.C. was considered a Title Town itself after a 2019 World Series championship by the Nationals and a Stanley Cup crown by the Capitals in 2018. Can any of D.C.’s teams return to glory in the upcoming season?
Championships Through the Years
The good news is that all four of Washington’s sports team’s have brought home the hardware before. D.C.’s big four have combined for six championships through the years, with the Commanders owning three of them.
The two most recent titles occurred in 2019 and 2018 with the Nationals and Capitals. You have to look back to the 90s for the Commanders’ last championship (1992) and even further for the Wizards (1978).

Do Any of Washington’s Teams Have a Chance in 2022/23?
With the Nationals in the cellar and going through a rebuild, it’s fair to say they’re the least likely to raise a trophy anytime soon. But with the other three squads, anything can happen.
The Capitals are always perennial contenders with Alexander Ovechkin at the helm, and the newly tooled Wizards are also looking to make some noise this year.
The Commanders are a wild card this year, and recently acquired quarterback Carson Wentz has much to prove. The C’s also have the NFL’s easiest schedule this season, so anything is possible.

How To Place Your Title Town Special Bet
- Maryland: Sports bettors in Maryland can visit MGM National Harbor to place their Title Town bet and all of their sports wagers.
- Washington D.C.: Those in the nation’s capital can head down to BetMGM’s retail sports betting location at Nationals Park to place a bet. Wagers can also be placed online through the BetMGM app within a two-block radius of the retail location.
- Participants will be offered +1800 odds on a single wager on the Title Town Special. If any of Washington’s big four win a championship in 2022/23, you win!
Sports fans can currently place bets on all sports at five Maryland casinos while the state waits for mobile betting apps to launch.
