Bingo World at 4901 Belle Grove Rd in Baltimore has been the city’s top destination for bingo entertainment ever since the venue opened its doors in 1987. Located within 15 minutes of the Inner Harbor, it’s the biggest bingo hall in the state, with several daily sessions and draws. The mid-day session starts at noon, while the main session begins every evening at 7:30 p.m.

Guaranteed jackpots and prize pots easily reach six figures, such as the ones available in the Fall Classic Program, packed with 30 different games.

Over the years, Bingo World in Baltimore has added a snack bar and over 200 video gaming machines that resemble Las Vegas-style slots, only with different rules. That addition allowed it to apply for a sports betting license with the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission and its special Sports Wagering Application Review Commission (SWARC) and become a holder of two Class B licenses reserved for commercial bingo halls.

BetRivers Sports Betting at Bingo World

Following the HB0940 sports betting law that legalized sports wagering in Maryland in 2021, the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission created a set of rules and regulations for sports betting in the state.

Consequently, bingo halls with over 200 gaming machines could apply for a Class B license. In March 2022, SWARC voted unanimously to approve World Bingo’s sports wagering licensing, thus effectively becoming the ninth property in Maryland to receive a green light for a retail sportsbook.

On Aug. 1, 2022, Rush Street Interactive brought sports betting to Bingo World in the form of its top product: BetRivers Sportsbook. Qadry “the Missile” Ismail, a legend of the Baltimore Ravens, was the first to place a bet.

BetRivers Sportsbook spans 3,000 square feet of space and has 12 self-service kiosks and three over-the-counter machines for placing bets. Thanks to a lounge area with 32 theater-style seats, a bar, and 21 HD video screens, the Bingo World sportsbook has enough firepower to compete with the best retail sportsbooks at Maryland casinos.

Bets Offered at BetRivers Sportsbook at Bingo World

BetRivers Sportsbook is in close proximity to the Inner Harbor with free parking onsite and no ticket validation required.

The spectrum of bets BetRivers Sportsbook has to offer is impressive. Some of the most common wagers you can place include:

  • Moneyline: Betting on the winner of the match.
  • 3-way Moneyline: A wager where it’s possible to bet on the outcome of a game or event.
  • Correct score: As its name implies, you choose the exact score of a game.
  • Over/Under: Over/Under or Totals let you bet on the total amount of predefined occurrences, including points, goals, rebounds, etc. Your job is to predict whether there’ll be more or less than the number of occurrences set by the sportsbook.
  • Period betting: With period betting, you can bet on the outcome of each period of a game or match.
  • Tie No Bet: Tie No Bet wager allows you to bet on the winner of a match. No tie odds are offered.
  • Spread betting: With spread betting, the team you’re backing will need to cover the spread or a winning margin for your bet to come through.
  • Futures: Bets where you back a team or player to win an entire competition or a tournament.
  • Props: Wagers on specific statistical occurrences in a match, such as whether a certain player will get the next yellow card in a soccer game.
  • Parlays: Bets that consist of at least two selections. For the ticket to be deemed victorious, all selections on the betslip must hit.
  • Teasers: These are parlay bets with modified odds in the player’s advantage. Teasers bring better odds in exchange for better payouts.

Bingo World Partnership With BetRivers Sportsbook

“Does Bingo World have a sportsbook?” is a question that will surely appear high on your trending list now that BetRivers Sportsbook is up and running. Bingo World qualified for the license on account of its partnership with Rush Street Interactive, the company behind the BetRivers brand (available in 13 states in total).

It paid a $250,000 licensing fee and has agreed to pay a 15% tax on winnings as a Class B license holder. The five-year renewal fee is 1% of the licensee’s average annual proceeds from sports betting in the past three years.

Bingo World Game Selection

As a commercial bingo hall, Bingo World is entitled to host video gaming terminals and slot-like machines. The gaming offer is admittedly far from the one in the best casinos in Maryland. Still, even high rollers will find something that suits their needs since the maximum bet on a video lottery terminal can be as high as $500.

The minimum RTP in VLT machines is currently set at 87% but according to a report and proposition by the Maryland State Lottery and Gaming Control Agency, that limit may soon decrease to 85%.
