More wins than losses: Baltimore Ravens playoff odds history

Ravens Listed as 7-point Underdogs vs. Bengals

For the fourth time in the last five seasons, the Baltimore Ravens are in the NFL Playoffs. It’s the third time in that many seasons that Baltimore finds themselves in the Wild Card round. This will mark the first time Baltimore has played Cincinnati in the playoffs.

In Week 18, the Bengals built a 24-7 halftime lead and tightened its sixth-ranked defense to limit the Ravens to three field goals in the second half. Baltimore did harm to themselves: turning the football over four times.

But even if the Ravens shore up their handling of the football, they must find a way to limit the production of Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow. In five career games against the Ravens, Burrow is averaging 311 yards and two TD passes. In the eight-game winning streak his team carries into the playoffs, Burrow has a 99.6 QBR and 18 touchdown passes.

You can get +270 on the Ravens’ moneyline from DraftKings for the Wild Card game. That means a $100 winning bet will pay out $270, plus your original stake. But for that to happen, Baltimore needs a spark from their backfield. It would be nice if it came from Lamar Jackson, who hasn’t played since Dec. 4 because of a PCL strain. The former Most Valuable Player was averaging 250 all-purpose yards (68 through his legs) when he was sidelined.

Some who have seen Jackson practicing this week think there’s no way he can play in the Wild Card game, but Jackson has said he thinks he can. His absence is the big cloud hanging over this game, and the chances for the Ravens to beat Cincy.

Harbaugh turned to Anthony Brown last week, who was a dismal 19 for 44 for 286 yards through the air and two picks in his first NFL start. Tyler Huntley, who was starting in place of Jackson, was himself hurt in Week 17. The Ravens are a limping mess entering this game. The defense, third in the league (18.5 points allowed per game), will be asked to lift the Ravens to a win on Sunday night. If you think they can, the odds are good from DraftKings.
