There is a lot of excitement surrounding the Maryland Terrapin baseball program. Maryland earned the No. 15 seed in the 2022 NCAA Tournament and will host a Regional in College Park for the first time.
The Terps put together their best regular season in school history, winning a program-record 44 games. They also captured their first Big Ten Regular-Season Championship. It was the program’s first conference title of any kind in 51 years.
Now, the Terps have their sights set on the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.
Maryland College Park Regional Odds
The field of 64 is set, and eight teams will make it to Charles Schwab Field in Omaha for the College World Series. The first step in the process of making it to Omaha is winning your Regional.
As the No. 15 overall seed in the tournament, Maryland is hosting the College Park Regional this weekend. The Terps are the No. 1 seed in the regional, Wake Forest is the No. 2 seed, UConn is the No. 3 seed, and LIU is the No. 4 seed. Games will take place at Bob “Turtle” Smith Stadium, with the action getting started on Friday, June 3.
The odds for the College Park Regional are as follows on FanDuel:
- Wake Forest +100
- Maryland +155
- UConn +360
- LIU +3700
Despite being the No. 15 seed in the field of 64, Maryland does not have the best odds to win the College Park Regional. Wake Forest is the current favorite at +100, while the Terps are +155. However, the Terps should feel good about their chances of advancing, as they posted a stellar record of 24-2 at home this season. Those 24 home wins were a school record.
Maryland College World Series Odds
As of Wednesday, June 1, Maryland is +8000 to win the College World Series on FanDuel and +3000 on Caesars Sportsbook. Keep in mind that Maryland’s title odds can fluctuate all the way up to the College World Series. In college baseball, instances such as injuries, suspensions, transfers, etc. can encourage a substantial shift in odds. In addition, College World Series odds can change based on a team’s performance during Regionals. For example, if Maryland were to win the College Park Regional, it is likely that their odds would become shorter (+8000 to +2000).
While sports betting in Maryland is limited to five retail casinos right now, the hope is that mobile betting will launch before the end of 2022. Be sure to follow along with the latest updates here at Maryland Sharp, and sign up for bonus offers in preparation for launch.
